“ From Scratch Restaurant is an absolute must if you're visiting Carmel! It's tucked away in the most cutesy, charming location that just adds to the whole experience. From the moment we walked in, the service was incredible -- everyone was so kind, helpful, and made us feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food: the Cinnamon Roll Pancake was absolutely unforgettable. It was so good that I had to try recreating it at home -- but nothing comes close to what they serve here. Fluffy, sweet, and perfectly spiced, it's truly a one-of-a-kind dish that I'll be dreaming about until my next visit. Overall, if you're staying anywhere in the Carmel area and love a great breakfast, you have to check out From Scratch. You won't be disappointed! ”
“ Wow, I am blown away with this place! The food was delicious and it was well worth the 30 minute wait! That cheddar biscuit is to die for and the omelets are just cheesy delicious goodness!!! The banana walnut pancake was so/so but that's okay because the omelette, potatoes, & biscuit made up for it. I am truly impressed. They played good music that wasn't too loud & the staff was friendly. Don't think twice about this place! Oh... & the portions were huge! My boyfriend and I were STUFFED for the rest of the day. ”
“ Yummy breakfast...ample servings, tasty coffee. In a little quaint shopping center near Rio Road in Carmel. I had the eggs Florentine which were so delish and enjoyed a bite of their cinnamon roll pancake! The potatoes were so good, prepared perfectly. A definite return in the future. On a lovely sunny spring Saturday morning the place was hopping. Service is attentive and friendly!! ”
“ Everything we had was delicious. My husband got the triple d special. He has a big appetite and barely put a dent in it. I got the skillet with homemade biscuit. I ate probably half of it and it looked like I barely touched it. My son got a Mickey pancake off the kids menu, and for no upcharge at all they added chocolate chips. Nice fluffy pancake. Our servers worked great as a team and never left us needing anything. We finished pretty quickly but did not feel rushed at all. ”

“ Overall - this place has big portions but be prepared to wait for it. They do not take reservations. Parking: plenty of free parking. You can park in the spots behind the mall too. Location: the description on the website was lengthy. Basically you can access the restaurant from any direction in the mall, and you can park anywhere. I think the easier way is to find Synchronicity Holistic in the parking lot and go toward Allegro. Follow the walkway into the mall. You have to walk down some steps to reach From Scratch. On a Saturday afternoon, it was about 15-20 minutes wait for four people. They text you when the table is ready. You can browse inside their adjacent shop to kill time. Food: I loved the sampler plate $23! The chili was so good. I enjoyed the apricot jam with the cheesy biscuit. The banana walnut pancakes were ok. They were a good size. (If you want real maple syrup, it's an extra charge.) The tuna avocado salad was only ordered because we needed some kind of veggie. We ended up taking home the leftover lettuce. There was so much of it. The coffee latte is served in a glass cup, but it's a hot drink. Service: good. They are friendly. Credit card/Apple Pay accepted. Bathroom: there is only one stall. If you go out to the left of the restaurant, you can find more restrooms upstairs. ”
“ First, I would like to shout out to Mr. Anthony M., who was our favorite server during this extended staycation weekend. Of course, we went to fancier places with high-end food, yet Anthony was an excellent all-around server. The food was good, but overall, it was still brunch food. What made it better was the superior service.` BB ”
“ More like a solid 3.5 The food looks wayyy better than it actually is. My one problem is that everything is soooo decadent. The chili is thick and heavy, the biscuit and gravy are thick and heavy. Even the pancake is thick and heavy I felt thick and heavy after finishing the plate ”
“ Came here on a Monday afternoon in late December 2024 via car. There was plenty of free parking in the plaza. They welcomed dogs and seated us under a heat lamp on the patio. I didn't have to make reservations and there wasn't a wait when I went. Their food was great and so was their service. It was everything you'd expect from a cafe. They even had a dog-friendly menu! I ordered the eggs for my dog. They make it with 2 eggs and my dog loved it. I also ordered the hot cocoa and the Veggie Eggs Benedict with fruit. Everything was yummy and fresh. That hollandaise sauce was perfect! They actually have me the Eggs Benedict with sausage but I wasn't mad about it. I'd highly recommend this place. The staff was friendly and attentive. ”
